AMURTEL in Athens, Greece is committed to safe and empowered mothering from pregnancy through 18 months after birth. We aim to strengthen mothering skills by creating a safe women’s space within which to explore both the cultural similarities as well as the differences in African, Middle Eastern and European parenting. Rohingya Refugee Crisis

Since August 2017, targeted violence and serious human rights abuses forced 700,000 Rohingya to flee Myanmar into Bangladesh, joining the 230,00 refugees already there. The majority are under 18.

AMURT is active in the large refugee camps and has provided health, child protection, education and psycho-social services.

Syria Refugee Crisis

AMURT has been active in Lebanon since 2012 supporting Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese host communities. Since 2015 the focus has been creating a pathway to education, providing psycho-social support and giving youth a chance for self-expression and supporting their struggle for livelihoods. Read more
